Fruits de Ponent water treatment plant:

Introduction:
In the process of washing the fruit in the processing tanks, the water used is quickly contaminated with organic and inorganic matter, thus affecting its quality. To ensure optimum quality of the water used in this process, continuous renewals are carried out. ILERDAGUA proposes a water treatment and recirculation system, thus reducing total water consumption and ensuring that it is free of solids and complies with health parameters.

Location:
Fruits de Ponent, Lleida, Catalonia, Spain

Problem:

  • High degree of contamination in the water of the fruit washing ponds.
  • Very expensive treatment, with very high dosages.
  • Continuous renewals that involve high consumption.

Solution:

  • Recirculation and continuous water treatment: keeps the water clean and in optimal conditions for long periods of time.
  • Removal of solids and low turbidity: allows a more efficient and safer disinfection.
  • Drastic reduction of water consumption: minimizes waste and optimizes resources.

Results:

  • Reliable system that removes organic and inorganic matter.
  • Efficient operation with low energy consumption.
  • Flow rate adapted to demand.
  • Precise flow control.

Key data:

  • Significant reduction in water consumption.
  • Increased periods between water changes, up to 2 months.
  • Significant weekly water savings per pond.
